WordPress Development & Support

Even with knowledgeable and capable staff maintaining your website, sometimes you need some developer support. Oranaut offers flexible options for development and support, so that when you need new features or changes to your site’s source code, I’m ready to help with what you need. Whether you are looking for help with a single project or you need regular support on your site, I have options for you.

Monthly Development & Support Plans

Oranaut development and support plans are billed at a regular monthly rate so you won’t be surprised by what you pay. There is one flat rate which guarantees a fixed number of hours of weekly work on your site. No contract negotiations, no estimates. I get to work right away. If you don’t need development after a while, you can pause or cancel your subscription anytime.

How it works

When you sign up for a monthly support plan, you will be given your own Trello board to submit development and support tasks. You can add anyone you’d like to your board, and submit as many tasks as you would like. Every week, I will work on the tasks you’ve submitted and contact you with a progress report. As long as you have submitted tasks for development and kept your subscription active, I will keep your projects moving forward.

Single Project Contracts

For urgent support and time-sensitive features, you might be better served by a devoted accelerated development process. In this case, a single project contract is your best approach.

In this case, a fitting process and timeline will be established from the beginning of the project with regular progress updates.

Process

Though every project is different, the same general process is used to get things started and keep things on track.

  1. Introduction – The first step of a one-time project is to have a meeting to get things kicked off. In this meeting, we’ll talk through goals, checkpoints, budget and deadlines, as well as any training needs that might be related to the finished product. In order to get all this determined, we’ll discuss your project in broad terms. We’ll need to answer the what, why, and when questions about the work you would like accomplished.
  2. Estimation – Once we have some common understanding about the work you are pursuing, I will send you some estimate options the work you need done. The total of these estimates, once you’ve chosen one, will be the final price of your development work.
  3. Implementation – Now that all the scope and logistics have been put in place, I will begin work on your project guided by the preparation put in place ahead of time. Once fully developed, the project will be deployed and tested in a staging environment. After all the tests have passed and tasks have been completed, the project will be shared with you for review. I’ll make any changes you need, until you are satisfied with the work.
  4. Installation – After you’ve given us the green light on your project, I’ll introduce it into your live WordPress site. At this stage, I’ll make sure to provide guidance and training related to your new feature to anyone you have managing and interacting with your site on a regular basis.

Pricing

Pricing for one-time development projects will vary based on what you would like to have developed. All the totals and pricing details will be included in your initial estimates and carried through into the project contract. Typically this total is paid in two parts, half up front, half upon completion. Prices for one-time contracts can’t be determined in advance, but once you’ve agreed to an amount there won’t be any surprises on your bill. What you agree to is what you will pay.
